This image is from a series created by Mi'kmaq craftsmen of Big Cove, New Brunswick in the 1960s. Each print is an expression of different aspects of Mi;kmaq folklore about their people, their relationship with nature, their spirituality, and history.
As you can see, these prints are vibrant, textured and were created using a technique most often associated with pop art. The result is a unique series of Canadian folk art.
