This image is from a series created by Mi'kmaq craftsmen of Big Cove, New Brunswick in the 1960s. Each print is an expression of different aspects of Mi'kmaq folklore about their people, their relationship with nature, their spirituality, and history.
As you can see, these prints are vibrant, textured and were created using a technique most often associated with pop art. The result is a unique series of Canadian folk art.
